New Year's Eve 2011

The Steip family, as well as myself and my other sister, Andrea, were invited to the next door neighbor's for New Year's Eve.
It was a potluck with many people there and the host was Carl, a very nice man. Erika made two desserts.
Here are some of the family.
Lauren excited they are playing a kid's movie:
Carl set off a ton of fireworks. Here are the kids watching from afar.
Beccaboo:
Sebastian holding up to the late hour (we left at 9pm).
Here's a pic of Andrea before we went home to have a glass of Martinelli's with the kids.

John's Visit to Kentucky

John was invited to come down to Kentucky for a few days after Christmas. The kids loved John mainly because he's so "talk and strong" that they could climb all over him (he was working up a sweat!), but he was also really good at playing with the kids. Rebecca looks a little skeptical in this picture:
John also spent some time reading stories to Kaylen.

We were all getting cabin fever, so John and I took the kids out to play on their bikes. Kaylen is sooooooo adorable in this picture!
John's waving to Sebastian who just turned around at the mail boxes.
Doesn't he look so cool?
John and I hung out with Kaylen when she got tired of riding.
After bikes we played on the swing set out back.

John and I just before we went inside. We had a fun time!

Opening Gifts

I don't know why, but this picture makes me smile!
Both Lauren and Rebecca got a horse designed blanket and pillow.
Kaylen loves Mickey!Grrrrrrr!
A gift for the baby!

Christmas in Kentucky 3

We all got dressed and went to breakfast, which is also a tradition in our family. Afterwards, we came back home, passed out gifts and then took pictures with our gifts.

Christmas in Kentucky 2

Here is a picture of the tree before all the kids came out to see:Of course, all the kids went straight to their new bikes (thanks Granddad!).
Here are the kids showing how blessed they feel.

Christmas in Kentucky 1

I was able to get a free flight with my miles so I decided to go to Kentucky for Christmas. I arrived on Christmas Eve, where we had loads of traditions to enjoy. First we had New England Clam Chowder for dinner. Here's Kaylen:Here's Rebecca-what a cutie! And Lauren:After dinner, we drove to downtown Cadiz to look at a great light display. There's Sebastian sporting his animal cap! When we got home, Erika made a quick batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies to set out for Santa.Sebastian was in charge of putting the carrots out for the reindeer. We also put out egg nog instead of milk because Santa would probably be tired of milk by then.
Brian lit the advent candles. We all sang a song around the candles.
I had the honor of putting the last item (the baby Jesus) in the advent calendar. And then I got to pass out the candy!
